DESCRIPTION
Guatemalan Jadeite mined from the tropical regions Central America has a colour and energy signature distinct from its Burmese cousin. It was heavily used by the ancient Mayan and Aztec Mesoamerican cultures as a symbol of connection to their Gods. With a more bluish hue than the well-known “imperial green” often coveted in Asia, it was the bridging connection to both the sky and sea. Apart from being mined in an artisanal manner to minimise impact on the environment, 10% of the proceeds from sale of the rough that produced the stones here is donated to the Casita Copan Children's home in Honduras.
Mayan Jadeite or Guatemalan Jadeite is only available in Central America. These Jadeite is discovered in the Mesoamerican area known for its natural bluish tinge providing a calm, elemental sea energies for the wearer.
These batches were purchased in rough of slabs and boulders from artisanal miners and carefully crafted. Through responsible sourcing, environmental protection and partnerships with artisanal miners, hand tools were used by locals during the process Monetary support for the local communities were provided when acquiring these natural rough gems.

Meaning “Veins of Gold” in Malay and Indonesian, Uratemas explores the tension between nature & urbanization - and between the secular & spiritual – via the intermarriage of sustainable natural materials with contemporary versions of precious historical alloys, interpreted into striking silhouettes that are primal and distinct yet intuitively universal.
Majority of materials are intentionally sourced from the region of tropical South-East Asia, and many are specially chosen for their corresponding natural & cultural heritage; deep-rooted connections to local animistic beliefs & practices, ways of respecting nature, and their various sacred and spiritual properties.
